REQUIREMENTS FOR ACCURATE DENTAL DIAGNOSIS AND TREATMENT PLAN

For an accurate dental diagnosis, treatment plan and approximate cost of treatment at our dental tourism partner dental offices worldwide, we will require the following information in the form of X-rays and photos from you.

Panoramic X-ray 

A panoramic dental X-ray, also known as an orthopantomogram (OPG) or panorex, is a panoramic scanning dental X-ray of the upper and lower jaw. It shows a two-dimensional view of a half-circle from ear to ear. For example: The X-ray scan below illustrates the maxilla and mandible, all the teeth including the "wisdom teeth," the frontal, nasal and maxillary sinus air spaces and the temporomandibular joint complex or "TMJ".

Panoramic X-rays are mandatory for dental implant treatments and they can be either digital or on film.

Periapical Full Set of X-rays:

Periapical X-rays are regular dental X-ray pictures of the teeth, bones, and surrounding soft tissues. The periapical view is taken of both anterior and posterior teeth. The objective of this type of view is to capture the tip of the root on the film. This is often helpful in determining the cause of pain in a specific tooth, because it allows a dentist to visualize the tooth as well as the surrounding bone in their entirety. This view is often used to determine the need for endodontic therapy as well as to visualize the successful progression of endodontic therapy once it is initiated.

Periapical X-rays can be obtained at most dental offices and they can be either digital or on film.

Digital Pictures

Digital pictures are photos captured by a regular camera. The following four views may be required:

•  full face smile,

•  full smile close up,

•  upper arch, and

•  lower arch
