Jose Ramon Azpiri Lopez, MD earned his Medical Degree with honors from the University of Nuevo Leon Medical School, Monterrey, Mexico in 1981. He completed residency work in areas including Clinical Cardiology, and Internal Medicine. He received the Interventional Cardiology Fellowship from the University of Toronto, Toronto, Canada in 1988. He has been Director of the Non-invasive Diagnostic Cardiopulmonary Laboratory at Christus Muguerza, since 1993.


Dr. Lopez has been certified by the Mexican Board of Internal

Medicine and the Mexican Board of Cardiology since 1990, by the Mexican Board of Interventional Cardiology since 2000, and has been Coordinator of the Cardiac Catheterization and Cardiovascular Intervention Laboratory at the University of Nuevo Leon Hospital since 2004.


Dr. Lopez is a member of the Canadian Cardiovascular Society, the Clinical Cardiology Council of the American Heart Association, the American Society of Echocardiography, and a member of the International Society of Endovascular Specialists, to name a few. He is a Fellow of the Society of Cardiac Angiography and Interventions and the American College of Cardiology.
