Dr. Mahant brings with him more than 26 years of rich experience having worked in prestigious institutions in the country and overseas.


Dr. Mahant is credited with over 15, 000 surgeries during his career which include a large number of redo – surgeries, Pediatric surgeries, valve replacements and other complicated bypass surgeries like failing heart surgeries. He is reputed to have operated successfully on all types of patients starting from new born babies to 90 year old persons. His expertise involves Coronary Artery Bypass Surgery, Valve Replacement Surgeries for infants and children with complex heart disease. As an individual surgeon Dr. Mahant has performed the maximum number of procedures in a single year in New Delhi.


Over the years he has trained in Australia, New Zealand & the United States of America. He a Senior Registrar Cardiothoracic Surgery at Dunedin Hospital, New Zealand, Visiting Fellow Cardiothoracic Surgery at Green Lane Hospital, Auckland, New Zealand, Senior Fellow Cardiothoracic Surgery at St. Vincent’s Hospital, Sydney, Senior Fellow Cardiothoracic Surgery at Royal Children’s Hospital, Melbourne and the Royal North Shoine Hospital, Sydney. Dr. Mahant was also Professor of Cardiac Surgery at SGPGI, Lucknow.


Dr. Mahant is an M.S. (General Surgery) & M.Ch. (Cardio-Vascular and Thoracic Surgery) from the PGIMER, Chandigarh.

 Dr. Mahant is a recipient of highest Indian National Qualification both in General and Cardiovascular & Thoracic Surgery.
