Dr. Miguel Alfaro Davila

Dr. Alfaro completed his first residency in general surgery at the San Juan de Dios Hospital after earning his medical degree from the University of Costa Rica in 1968. After completing his formal education in Costa Rica, Dr. Alfaro traveled to the United States where he spent three years studying general surgery, two years at the University of Missouri and one at the University of Michigan, as well as two years studying plastic surgery at the University of Colorado, where he served as Chief of Residents. After completing his studies in the US, he returned to Costa Rica where he served as Head of Plastic Surgery, Head of Burn Center, and finally as Head of Surgery at the Hospital San Juan de Dios. Dr. Alfaro is an active member of 11 medical associations including International College of Surgeons.
