Dr Ariel Rivera Aguerri

Dr. Rivera graduated from the Universidad Autónoma de Centro América and earned a degree in General Surgery in 1997 from the University of Costa Rica. He also finished a doctorate program in Medical Science from the University of Salamanca in Spain.

Dr. Rivera has extensive experience in minimally Invasive Gastrointestinal Surgery, Bariatric & General Surgery. He has performed 1500 laparoscopic procedures, and his credentials are recognized by relevant worldwide medical associations such as:

Fellow International College of Surgeons (FICS), Society American Gastrointestinal Endoscopic Surgeons (SAGES), American Society for Metabolic & Bariatric Surgery (ASMBS) and, Latin American Association of Endoscopic Surgeons (ALACE)

He is founder member and one of the Bariatric Surgeons of the Bariatric Center of Costa Rica.
