Doctor Bissot graduated from the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Panama in 1987.    Attended the annual clinical congress of the American College of Surgeons in San Francisco, California in 1993, as well as a post graduated course in minimally invasive surgery, also in San Francisco and a post graduated course in biliary tract, liver and pancreatic disease.  In 1994 he became a specialist in general surgery at the Doctor Arnulfo Arias Madrid Metropolitan Hospital Complex of the Caja del Seguro Social.  In 1995, attended a theoretical – practical basic course of Laparoscopic surgery, in San José, Costa Rica.  In 1996, attended a post graduated course of breast surgery in San Francisco, California.  In 1997, attended the Congress of the American College of Surgeons in Chicago, Illinois, and also the Harvard Medical School for Advances in cancer surgery for the Surgeons at the General Hospital Cancer Center in Boston, Massachusetts.  Attended a post graduated course in Colon Diseases at the Annual Clinical Congress of the American College of Surgeons, in Orlando, Florida in 1998.  In 1999, attended a post graduated course in minimally invasive surgery in the Annual Clinical Congress of the American College of surgeons, in San Francisco, California.  In 2000, attended a course for the Handling of Rectal Prolapse and Hemorrhoids with PPH (Ethicon), in Managua, Nicaragua.  A course in Endorectal Ultrasound at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation, in Weston, Florida, in 2002.  In 2004 attended a course in Surgery for the Morbidly Obese with training in animals and supervised human surgery at the Gastro Obeso Center of the Syrian Lebanese Hospital in Sao Paulo, Brazil.  In 2006 a course in Flexible Endoscopy and Natural Orifice surgery, at the Annual Surgery of the foregut symposium and Bariatric allied health symposium.  

From 1992 through 1993, Dr. Bissot was Chief of Residents of the Surgery Department of the Doctor Arnulfo Arias Madrid Metropolitan Hospital Complex of the Caja del Seguro Social.  A surgical instructor at the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Panama, from 1992 through 1994.  Chief of education of the General Surgery Service of the Caja del Seguro Social, from 1998 through 2001.  Since 1998, surgical instructor of general surgery at the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Panama and Surgery Professor at the thyroid and parathyroid diseases section.  Also, since 1998, is training instructor for the surgery residents at the Caja del Seguro Social in Panama.  From 2005 through 2006, he was Medical Director of the Susana Jones de Cano Hospital at Villa Lucre in Panama.
