Dr Jyoti is a Senior Consultant in General, Gastrointestinal and Laparoscopic Surgery attached to our hospital. He is one of the pioneers of Minimally Invasive Surgery in New Delhi. He started the laparoscopic surgery programmes at Batra Hospital & Medical Research Centre, New Delhi, PSRI Hospital, New Delhi besides helping his under trainees to set up similar units at Jammu in the state of Jammu & Kashmir and at Kota in Rajasthan. Over the past one and a half decades he has accumulated a wealth of experience in a wide spectrum of laparoscopic and short stay surgical procedures.

Besides the routinely performed general surgical procedure including elective as well as emergency situations he has been an active member of surgical teams participating in a host of gynaecological laparoscopic operations as well. He received his training in the fundamentals of surgery at Medical College, Amritsar and then he acquired proficiency in laparoscopic surgery while getting trained at some of the prominent Indian hospitals and abroad including a training in advanced laparoscopic techniques at KEM Hospital, Mumbai; Lady Wellington Hospital, Chennai; Ethicon Centre, Chennai and Klinikum der Mannheim, Germany. He has a special interest in comprehensive weight loss programme including bariatric surgery.
