After training in general surgery he did his M.Ch from Grants Medical college in Bombay which one of the finest institutes for superspeciality training. After training with one of the best Urologists there he came to New Delhi, his hometown, to join Apollo hospital where he worked in the department of Urology & Kidney transplant.

He has been an eminent member of the team that first started laparoscopic urology in New Delhi. The team carries the achievement of being the leader in laparoscopic donor nephrectomy & radical prostatectomy. He has a special interest in minimally invasive surgeries for urinary tract cancers. The recent addition in the realm has been that of Robotic surgery. He belongs to the team that started Robotic surgery in the corporate sector hospitals in India. The team now has the largest experience of laparoscopy & Robotics in the private sector hospitals. In this while he presented and published numerous papers on Laparoscopic & Robotic surgery in various conferences & medical journals.

Dr Khera carries special interest in cancer surgery. He has performed numerous cancer surgeries for kidney, bladder & prostate which include robotic, laparoscopic & open surgeries. He has a special interest in reconstructive surgeries for stricture urethra & congenital PUJ obstruction.
