The Ghent University Hospital

The Ghent University Hospital is one of the largest and most specialized health care in Flanders. It has extensive facilities for this one-day and overnight recordings, diagnosis, treatment and care.

The more than 5,500 professionals offer modern infrastructure for the performance of their contracts, including with more than 1000 beds for several days and Day Clinics.

The combination of these tasks in close collaboration with the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Ghent, the hospital a comprehensive package of basic and highly specialized care to.

The UZ Ghent is also a center for scientific research and medical education. Doctors and medical specialists are trained and researchers working in many services to new techniques for diagnosis, treatment and improving care.

Patient
The UZ Gent has more than 1000 beds for acute care and extensive outpatient facilities for diagnosis, treatment and care. Patients in the UZ Gent can find a wide range of treatments, from basic to highly specialized care. Every year 75,000 patients are included and approximately 400,000 patients treated outpatient.

Training and education
The Ghent University Hospital provides basic and advanced training for all categories of medical care. Every year some 120 doctors and dentists in their recognition of a specific specialization.

Scientific Research
In close collaboration with the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences at the University of Ghent, the treatment of patients supported by scientific research. This are a large number of well equipped laboratories available.
