SmartLipo or laser liposuction

SmartLipo or laser liposuction

SmartLipo or laser liposuction is an innovate technique for minimal invasive liposculpture treatment in a less traumatic manner compared to traditional techniques. No surgery is involved because laser energy liquefies fat rather than suctioning. Thus, the recovery times of SmartLipo / Laserlipolysis are much faster. Patients can resume work after two days, while it is advisable to avoid vigorous activity for 1 – 2 weeks.

How does SmartLipo work?

The doctor uses laser energy at a specific wavelength to glide through fatty tissue deposits beneath the skin.

The laser emission will break down the fat cell membranes, spilling out the cellular contents.

The thermal heating will “melt” the localized fat into an oily substance. The vast majority of liquid fat is squeezed out of the incisions. A small amount fat will be immediately absorbed by the body and then easily drained away in a natural manner.

  SmartLipo  procedure

  1. Patient undergoes a medical examination
  2. While the patient will not be anesthetized, doctors often prescribe a sleeping medication so they will be relaxed and won’t feel pain.
  3. Before starting, the doctor will inject a local anesthetic in the area to be treated such as the stomach or thigh.
  4. A paperclip–thin probe, approximately 1 mm in diameter and containing a laser fiber is inserted beneath the skin.
  5. The probe is moved back and forth delivering the laser energy to the fat cells melting unwanted fat into liquid so it can easily drain or be absorbed by the body’s lymphatic system.
  6. A Laserlipolysis / SmartLipo procedure takes about 1 hour, depending on the area and the size of the area treated. After, the patient will rest for 1-2 hours to ensure there are no effects from the sleeping medication.
  7. The patient requires no further downtime. He or she only requires elastic bandages to compress the skin before leaving the doctor’s clinic.
