Kyphoplasty is a minimally invasive spinal procedure for the treatment of  pain vertebral compression fractures(VCF) which are fractures in vertebra, the small bones that make up the spinal column. Inthe kyphoplasty procedure, a balloon tamp is first inserted throught the needle and into  the fractured bone where it is inflated to restore the height and shape of the vertebra and to correct angular deformity. Once the balloon is removed, a bone cement mixture is injected into tne cavity created by the balloon, thus stabilizing the fracture.
