1. General & Gastro-intestinal Surgery
22 years of experience. Working as a Senior Consultant for the last 13 years since Dec 1994. This was after 10 years on various training posts in India (4 years) and United Kingdom (6 years). In the UK, Dr. Arun Prasad was on a Career Registrar numbered post in Gastro-Intestinal Surgery that leads to a Consultant's post.
2. Minimal Access and Laparoscopic Surgery
Dr. Arun Prasad has involved with Laparoscopic Surgery from the time it started in the UK. Dr. Arun Prasad belongs to the first generation of laparoscopic surgeons have gone through the difficult learning phase of Laparoscopic Surgery and learned from its successes and difficulties.
Dr. Arun Prasad was one of the first few Laparoscopic Surgeons in the UK to be doing Laparoscopic Cholecystectomy and Hernia repair on day case patients and have one of the World's first series published.
One of the first surgeons internationally to be doing Minimally Invasive Piles Surgery (Stapled Hemorrhoidectomy) and Endoscopic Thoracic Sympathectomy
for Hyperhidrosis of Palms and Axilla.

1. Experience of over 5000 laparoscopic surgeries that include over 3500 laparoscopic cholecystectomy,
1000 laparoscopic hernia surgery and rest advanced laparoscopic surgery including Abdominal and Thoracoscopic Surgery (VATS).
2. One of the largest series of Laparoscopic Hernia repairs in the country. Personally
devised technique accepted and acknowledged in British Journal of Surgery
since 1994.
3. One of the few Thoracoscopic Surgeons in the country doing
Endoscopic Thoracic Sympathectomy for Hyperhidrosis,
Thoracoscopy for Spinal problems ( scoliosis, disc disease, tuberculosis etc)
Pleural diseases ( empyema, effusion, pneumothorax )
